Chevrolet has now unveiled its seventh generation of Corvettes. The 2014 Corvette Stingray was revealed this week at the Detroit Auto Show. Here's a look at the new car:
While retaining iconic Corvette spirit and style, the 2014 Corvette Stingray also incorporates advanced technological features in a complete redesign, the seventh such change in the brand's 60 year history.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray still has the features muscle car fans love -- a powerful V8 engine, racecar handling, and those beautiful curves. In fact, this is the first time since 1976 that the name "Stingray" has been used, a sign that the iconic sportscar is returning to its roots.

So, what's new? Almost everything else. Chevrolet says there are only two parts used in the 2013 model that are used in the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The revamped engine is a small block V8 with a number of technological advancements: direct injection, active fuel management, and continuously variable valve timing. These advancements lead to greater power as well as improved fuel efficiency. Also in the service of fuel efficiency, the 2014 Corvette Stingray has an aluminum frame instead of a steel one, resulting in a lighter car.
