2015 Cadillac CTS-V Special Edition Coupe Limited To 500 Cars, 3 Colors
The 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Special Edition is Cadillac's way of closing out this sleek two-door model in style. The all-new 2016 CTS-V is only being offered as a sedan, so a mere 500 coupe fans will have a chance to drive a very special Caddy into the sunset.
The Black Diamond beauty (assuming you choose that shade over Crystal White or Phantom Gray) features red contrast stitching on the leather Recaro racing seats, satin graphite 19-inch wheels with red-painted Brembo brake calipers, and a great-looking blackout grille.
Many formerly optional features have been made standard so the options list itself is a short one: a sunroof, choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmissions, and the aforementioned trio of paint colors.
At the heart of the 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Special Edition sits the same supercharged, 556hp, 6.2-liter V-8 engine that powers other members of the CTS-V line. Push the pedal to the metal and the powerplant quietly but assuredly impels the big coupe from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.
Don't let up and 0 to 100 takes just 9.7 seconds, the quarter-mile flashes by in 12.6 at 116 mph, and according to Cadillac top speed is around 190 mph. Drivers won't ever witness the latter, however, as a governor limits achievable top speed to “just” 179 mph.
The interior is luxurious in the Cadillac tradition but not overly so – the days of Cartier clocks and floating velour seatcovers are thankfully past. Instead, a suede-swathed steering wheel and shift knob highlight a low-key interior décor scheme warmed by the restrained use of Midnight Sapele wood trim.
MSRP on regular 2015 CTS-V coupes, sedans and wagons is $64,525 but the 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Special Edition gets a special sticker price: $72,195. (via Digital Trends)
