A Keyless Entry System James Bond Would Be Proud Of

Even though we can't have most of the amazing gadgetry that can often be found in a James Bond film, times are catching up and Aston Martin has just the thing to prove it.

The engineers at Aston Martin teamed up with famed watchmaker, Jaeger LeCoultre, and after 2 years of research and development they have given us the AMVOX2 DBS Transponder watch.

The watch will be able to communicate with an Aston Martin DBS and remotely open and close the doors on command. Once the owner is in range, an "open" button set between the 8 and 9 o'clock can be pressed, opening the doors to the vehicle. Once the doors are open, he/she can close them by pressing the "close" button situated between the 3 and 4 o'clock numerals.

According to the developers at Aston Martin, the whole module inside the watch is less than half the size of the one found inside the normal DBS key and weighs only a few grams. Although the watch itself won't be reserved for DBS owners, it will be left to authorized dealerships to mate the vehicle with the watch transponder.
