Akrapovič Full Moon Concept Motorcycle Is The Wheel Thing

The Full Moon Concept Motorcycle takes the concept of art bikes – or the art of concept bikes, if you like – to a whole new level of awesomeness. Why “Full Moon”? Could be the massive 30-inch front wheel that hits your eye like a big pizza pie!

Conceived by ex-racer and current exhaust systems specialist builder Igor Akrapovi? in collaboration with Slovenian Dreamachine Motorcycles, the eye-popping Full Moon Concept Motorcycle made its public debut before a stunned crowd at the Bad Salzuflen Custombike Show in Germany.

Over eight hundred hours of labor went into the unique custom cycle, which features an S&S Knucklehead 1,524-cc engine and two modified custom-made Akrapovi? exhausts.

The frame and bodywork are made entirely of sheet metal and form an extension to the exhaust system, thus the bike itself is essentially an enormous rolling exhaust. One would hope the rider's seat is well insulated!

Artistry aside, the Full Moon Concept Motorcycle boasts an abundance of unexpected yet innovative features starting with the thirty-inch aluminum and carbon composite wheel. You just won't find a wheel this large on any other motorcycle, custom or not, according to Akrapovi?'.

In addition, the bike offers completely automated steering that negates the need for any visible cables. There's no kickstand either because the Full Moon's hydraulic suspension allows the bike to stand upright when parked, seemingly defying the force of gravity.

If you didn't catch the Full Moon Concept Motorcycle up close and personal at the Bad Salzuflen Custombike Show, fear not: Akrapovi? plans on showcasing his creation at many other events, exhibitions, and fairs over the short to medium term. “The Full Moon is like no other bike out there now, and Akrapovi? is very proud of it.” Nothing wrong with showing off your pride and joy, amiright?
