Animalia Tape Cutters Cut Through Red Tape, Green Up Your Desktop

Too much red tape around the office? Cut through stale stationery styling and walk on the wild side with Animalia Tape Cutters from Japan's Magnet Incorporation!

Animalia Tape Cutters are made of painted wood and come in a choice of 5 different creatures including Black Bear, Giraffe, Panda, Tiger and Zebra. They measure 170mm long by 95mm wide by 47mm tall (7” x 4” x 2”) and weigh 70 to 100 grams (2.5 to 3.5 oz) each.

The design is both ingenious and obvious: each animal's body is positioned so that their hind legs hold a roll of standard-sized office cellotape between them.

At the other end, sharp metal teeth are ready to cut your tape to its desired length. Just ahead of the cutter, the animal's forearms stretch forward to provide extra stability.

Magnet Incorporation will be displaying all five Animalia Tape Cutters at the 72nd Tokyo International Gift Show from September 6th through 9th, 2011. They should then make a follow-up appearance on Japanese store shelves and online retailer websites such as Village Vanguard priced at 1,239 yen (around $16) each.
