Applauding Bus Shelters - Innovative Marketing?

What better way to reward environmentally-friendly acts than with applause? That's what Western Australia's Department of Environment and Conservation achieved with its applauding bus shelter, created by Marketforce agency in Perth.

Several shelters around Perth's Central Business District (CBD) were equipped with motion detectors that played recorded applause whenever someone stepped inside.

What do you think of this marketing initiative? Is this bus shelter effective in encouraging environmentally-friendly acts like taking the bus? Or is it simply there to make people feel good about themselves?

I think it's just a feel-good measure

But then again, I'm horribly jaded and don't really see the good in anyone or anything of late.

That's okay

I don't mind advertising that just makes people feel good!
