Just one of these a day can raise your risk for prostate cancer.
St. Patrick’s Day is here, and men better be careful. Researchers say that drinking one pint of beer a day could raise the risk of prostate cancer.
Scientists discovered that drinking two or more of these beverages a day could raise the risk of prostate cancer by 20 percent.
Researchers at Curtin University in Australia looked at thirty-five different studies showing a link between drinking and the risk of developing prostate cancer. They found that heavier drinkers – those that drank 14 or more alcoholic drinks per week – were at a higher risk.
While moderate drinking may protect older men from heart disease, they may also be raising their risk of getting prostate cancer.
Scientists state that these findings show that it’s important for men to drink in moderation.
So be cautious this St. Patrick’s Day – or any other day of the year for that matter – and just have a few green beers.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
