Outdoorsman Invents A Sleeping Bag For A Dog: The Barker Bag

Barker Bag: image via kickstarter.comBarker Bag: image via kickstarter.comBarker's not just any dog; he belongs to Andy Storms, a Seattle softgoods designer and outdoorsman, who loves to hike and camp with his best pal.  Barker's a tough dog; he hikes trails with Andy and he can get down and dirty with the best of them, but when night time comes, he likes to be cuddly and warm at the bottom of Andy's sleeping bag.  Problem is that while Barker stays warm, Andy's feet freeze.

It seems that overfilling the sleeping bag packed the insulation down so much that it lost much of its power to insulate!

So, what's a softgoods designer to do?  Create a sleeping bag for Barker, of course.  Now, after designing a few different prototypes of the Barker Bag, getting a utility patent on his invention, and enjoying a successful campaign on Kickstarter, Andy Storms is getting ready to ship the elegantly-designed teardrop-shaped Barker Bag to his first customers.  It looks pretty darn neat!

The Barker Bag - available in small, mediium, and large - is cleverly designed with a zipper on both sides of the bag, so it can attach to one or two human sleeping bags on either side.  It is also fitted with a collar to keep your dog snuggly in the bag, so he doesn't start wandering around at night... you know, getting into 'trouble.'

Barker's a happy boy now that he's got his own sleeping bag and he still gets to keep an eye on Andy while he sleeps. And if Barker should get a brother or sister, they can sleep side by side along with Andy in Andy's newest design, the 2-Dog Barker Bag, also available for sale.
