Cannabis App Helps You Score Weed!

If you are a fan of Showtime's award-winning comedy "Weeds" you know how dangerous locating, procuring and purchasing marijuana can be. However if you have a prescription from your physician, iPhone is going to make that whole process a whole lot easier.

Apple is now officially in the drug business approving a new $2.99 iPhone app under the moniker "Cannibis Locator App." Yes, it's the year 2009, and "we've come a long way baby"... from the righteous denouncing a substance that was capable of corrupting our very souls. Anyone remember "Reefer Madness" and its classic 1936 anti-marijuana propaganda messaging?

So if you have been approved to legally purchase the drug, your handy-dandy-all-purpose weed app will act as a GPS in directing you to the cooperatives, doctors, clinics, attorneys, organizations, and other patient services in states that have approved medical marijuana (cannabis) legislation.

Cannabis Apps developer uses directories managed by iMedicalCannabis and the Patient ID Center. According to the developer, for each purchase of the Cannabis app, $.50 will be donated to a cannabis non-profit reform fund that will be setup once the application reaches 1000 subscriptions.

So, no more borders-crossings, no more basement plant gardens. Now, all you have to do to secure your next joint is convince your doctor you are sick enough to take a toke!

Legalize Marijuana in New York

What about us New Yorkers. We smoke weed too!
I've been smoking since I was in my early twenties. I'm sixty now. I smoke for recreational use only. I don't smoke cigarettes or drink. My health is good (because of my marijuana use) I use to have a job before the crash. Never been to jail. Aside from marijuana, I'm a law abiding person. Why can't I smoke weed ?

Legalize it, already!

Why don't they just fucking legalize the stuff? It's here to stay. God said it was good when He made it. I tend to agree with Him.

All well and good, except I have seen it wreck motivation in talented musicians. Lost count of how many friends I've lost to psychosis. Apparently it causes cancer too, though this may be a rumour. Why not just go for a walk instead - you'll feel better about yourself! You're kinda cherry-picking the bits of the legalisation argument that you happen to agree with and ignoring the overwhelming fact that for our kind of immature civilization we have neither the logic or willpower to use drugs without MAJOR harm occuring (financial, healthwise, relationship-wise).

Re: Mental?

I completely disagree that marijuana somehow contributes to mental degradation. We can use that argument just as easily for playing video games or alcohol! But the fact remains that video games and alcohol are legal, marijuana is not. Just as everything else, it has to be used responsibly. I resent being told to take a walk when talking about smoking a joint, youd have to be ignorant to say something like that. The two actions are completely incomparable. And what about all the people who lost motivation or went into psychosis or beat their kids or cheated on their wives or lost their jobs and Never smoked marijuana in their life? Id think twice before making correlation between two completely unrelated events.

The only evidence of psychosis is if you start using marijuana at an early age because your brain is still in development. When you look at the harms and dangers that alcohol it makes marijuana look like a mickey mouse drug. Alcohol kills thousands from drinking and driving, excessive drinking, and causes violence.

First off let me dispell some common myths about marijuana.
1) It kills brain cells.
-False, the study that cites this is flawed and incorrect. Basically they hooked up gas masks to monkeys and suffocated them with marijuana for 5 straight days until they died. Now common sense says that when you do not breathe you lose brain cells. Studies have shown that cannabis actually stimulates brain cell growth.

2) It causes cancer.
-False, look it up, google it, this is false.

3) It will ruin your life, make you lazy, etc.
-If you use marijuana responsibly and set your priorities straight then you should have no problem balancing life and having a good time. Although if marijuana is all you care about then it will ruin your life. But that goes the same way with alcohol. There are thousands that suffer from alcoholism, lost there job/spouse from alcohol, and ruined there lives because of alcohol.

re: Mental? (2nd) by Djevla (stumbleupon)

If You would've looked around before stating ideas the government and other institutions who "want what's best for us" put in Your head You my friend would find that hemp is more likely to treat (maybe even cure - experiments are still conducted) cancer than provoke it, and then there's what the other anonymous blogger replied to Your post...
Pull your heads out of your rear ends people... You're all pumped full of fear concerning marijuana because it would be bad for the government, alcoholic beverage-companies and paper-companies if it were legalised
(sorry if i misspelled or have any context-errors, i'm hungarian)

Cannabis is addictive in the sense that all good things are worth doing again. I've known some people that blame all their problems on their 'Cannabis addiction' when really it's them as a weak person that is at fault. They'd rather palm off all their worries onto the fact that they smoke weed when really if they just lived a good honourable life, they could still smoke weed and be a successful and well-adjusted person - that's what I am !

Or The Newspaper

Or just flip thru the local paper to the "Local Crimes" section, where they list all those traffic occurances and such. They print the "innocent until proven guilty" arrestee's name and address in full! Just look for the arrests made for marijuana, and drop by their house later, and work something out! Not as hip as an iPhone app, but lots cheaper.

Reefer madness, that movie is awesome, espically when buzzed.
