Japan's Asahi Soft Drinks wants you to drink and drive... or at least, drink their Wonda Gold canned coffee and collect the miniature Lamborghini models included with selected cans. The 10 mini-Lambos trace the history of the Italian exoticar manufacturer by way of its most famous models, in the form of models.
Here they are, in no particular order: Miura P400, Jota, Urraco P250, Countach LP400, Diablo, Murciélago, Gallardo, Reventón, and Aventador LP700-4. Don't expect true-to-scale miniatures, however, these models are styled in the squashed and compressed mode favored by many model collectors. They're easily identifiable but at the same time, awesomely cute!
The cars have some moving parts; the trademark scissor-type doors on some models for example. As well, the cars are of the “pull back” variety – roll one backwards a short distance with the wheels touching the ground, let it go, and watch it take off like a real Lamborghini challenged by a Ferrari at a South Beach stoplight... feel free to provide your own “vaROOM!” vocal accompaniment.
Kudos to Asahi for associating their Lamborghini 50th anniversary tribute campaign with Wonda Gold canned coffee and not some of the company's other beverages, such as Asahi Super Dry lager beer. Wonda Gold is a product of Asahi Soft Drinks, a subsidiary of Asahi Breweries, Ltd. founded in 1982.
You can find Wonda Gold canned coffee – with or without the 50th anniversary Lamborghini tribute models on top – at Japanese convenience stores, vending machines or via Rinkya Stores if you're not in Japan. The 185-gram (6.25 oz) cans are sold individually or in 6-packs. (via Rinkya, Motodrive, and Eipons Garage)
