Chic Food Inspired Jewelry Designs Support Food Crisis

Your child did it first, making jewelry from cereal like Cheerios and Fruit Loops. Now a designer has taken that trend from preschool to runway, but this time, it's not actually edible so you don't have to worry about your purchases going soggy like this morning's breakfast.

The food inspired jewelry line by Kali Arulpragasm took casts of a number of edible items like rice, beans, sweet corn, nuts, black bean, lentils, chick peas, wheat and edible seeds in sterling silver or plated gold to turn them into fashionable designs. The jewelry line includes bold chokers, as well as delicate and feminine pendants, and besides their aesthetic value they are designed to raise awareness about the world hunger/food crisis. Part of the profits from the sale of the line will go to Oxfam International.
