Chocri Gets Your Mouth Watering With Customizable Chocolate Bars

If you can think of anything more mouthwatering than creating your own chocolate bar, I urge you to challenge me. German website, Chocri, lets you create the chocolate bar of your dreams, for selfless gift giving or your own personal consumption.

Not too long ago I wrote about You Bars, an American website that allows people to create their own custom nutritional bars and protein shakes. As impressed as I was by that concept, it just can't hold a candle to chocolate; it kicks health's butt every time (contrary to my best nutritional efforts).

It was no easy feat to learn exactly what Chocri has to offer, with a website solely available in German; but the things we do to endorse our vices. First, you get to choose the best part; the base, your options being milk, dark or white chocolate. Next, if you want to add some nutritional value to your indulgence, you can choose from 12 varieties of dried fruit. Then comes the nuts, with 17 choices to select from, followed by something that looks like spices for the daring who are willing to compromise a delicious tasting chocolate bar with the addition of fennel, coriander and more. Still a child at heart, the extras option really got me excited, which includes smarties, gummie bears, caramel balls and something that appears to be lit birthday candles. And the cherry on top of it all, so to speak, is the decorations selection to give your creation that special edge.

Chocri's bars are 125g worth of chocolaty goodness, and prices vary depending upon the number of selections you opt into during the creation process. One thing that I believe is missing from their site, although I can't be 100% since the text is not in a language I really understand, are tips and pointers to make sure you are sent something that actually tastes good. Unlike You Bars, they don't put limitations upon the quantity of items that you can select from each category, or suggest tasty ingredient combinations. While it may have gotten my stomach grumbling, I just can't help but think that my creation of white chocolate, with three kinds of nuts, two dried berries, all the candy items I mentioned above, some marzipan decorations and a few spices for good luck just won't taste very appetizing. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I'll never find out, because Chocri's service is currently only available for residents of Germany.

Chocri's definitely onto something here; what better winning combination than all out customization AND chocolate. Entrepreneurs and investors in North America, I hope you're listening, because we need a concept like this on this side of the globe!
