Lot's of stuff can "click." Friends click, teachers can click with their students, and if there's one ingredient missing in the soup and then it's found by the chef, it's a click! An "aha!" moment, some call it. LEGO® is a company that knows about clicks, in more ways than one, and they are looking for young inventors who have had their own clicks.
LEGO Click Awards 2009 competition isn't about LEGOs. You don't have to build anything with LEGOs and your idea doesn't have to have anything to do with LEGOs. Young inventors are only asked to write an essay answering the following questions:
Young inventors aged 6 to 9 have a 150 limit on their essays. Those aged 10 to 13 have 300 words in which they must fit their answers. If you are older, you will have to wait for a different contest to come along, because 6 to 13, as of August 1, 2009, are the age limits of the LEGO Click Awards 2009 competition.
You have until November 2, 2009 to submit your entry, so start thinking and when your ideas click, write them down! The applicant pools will be narrowed down to 30 finalists, 15 in each age group. From those, 5 young inventors will be chosen as the Grand Prize Winners and received a $5,000 US Savings Bond.
Essays will be judged on originality and creativity (50%) and the appropriateness of the essay to the theme (50%). For complete information on the LEGO competition for young inventors, visit Lego Click Awards.
