Swedish design company Humans Since 1982 has created a prototype of a digital clock from 24 analog alarm clocks, whose hands come together to create a digital display of the time.

Humans Since 1982 are a group of Swedish design students at HDK Göteborg in Sweden. This prototype will be exhibited at the Röhsska Design Museum beginning next month and will run through August 2009.
Watch a You Tube video of how Clock Clock pulls it all together in surprisingly fast orchestration. I hope that menacing, industrial background clanging noise is not included...
If this were to go into production my only concern would be of poltergeists trying to spell out terrifying messages to me in the middle of the night, or perhaps of one clock's hands going all screwy and getting stuck at half past 8 or something. Then what?

again, its controlled digitally, so no analog anywhere.

Cool but a suggestion...
Cool but I'm sure the novelty wears out after a couple hours. Also for the seconds update - it should just update the necessary numbers, seems like it expends unncessary energy updating the entire display each second.

I like it
I love the concept and it looks great from a distance and it's sure unique. I don't think I would like one for my house even if they make it smaller for domestic use. Oh the background noise on the video is still there.
