Clothes and Jewelry Made from Human Hair?
If there were clothes made out of human hair would you wear it? How about hairy Jewelry? Some people wear things made out of wool, fur or leather. Is it really that out of the ordinary to use hair as a fabric? Take a look at the dresses below made from human hair.
In this picture it appears as if the model’s own blonde hair has been weaved around her body and left dangling softly around her legs, but it’s really a dress. A Croatian company, Artidjana, has designed an entire dress with 165ft of blonde human hair. That’s a lot of hair. The dress was modeled by model Simona Gotovac at a fashion show in the capital city of Zagreb.
This black dress, part of a collection of hair dress, was shown at the London College of Fashion awards organized by the Royal Academy of Art in Piccadilly. The dress is made of black hair and the model wearing it looks like she’s a bit too hairy for the runway. Fashion student Julia Reindell designed the dress.
So what do you think? Do hairy dresses have split ends? Are they itchy? Are they warm? How do they get cleaned? Shampoo and conditioner? When the hair tangles does it have to be combed out? Feel free to share any more of your curiosities below.
For more neat things made of hair take a look at the Victorian Hairwork Society Website . Jewelry, Hairball conventions and more hairy ideas are available here for all the hair artists out there. You can even buy human hair online for you particular project. There is also a wreath (pictured above) made out of 15 peoples human hairs. Read the history on it here .

It isnt new.
It is not the new idea and fashion. German Nazi was the first to invent the hairy blanket and clothes for german people to wear them during the World War II. When I went to Auschwitz (near Kracow) in Poland, the Nazi cut/shaved all the prisoners' hair and made them into the blanket and clothes. However, it stopped selling them after the end of WWII.
I guess it was sad to see lots of "dead" hairs inside the prison house. Really shocked and horrible to see them.
