Weight-conscious women and men who once worried beer would go straight to the waists can now rejoice, as a new product from Japan whose name translates to “Enjoy the Collagen Foam” turns each glass of beer into a bubbly beauty treatment for their face, hair and skin.
The collagen is sourced from pork, it should be said, but that doesn't mean your stein of bubbly pop will exude the aroma of bacon... not that there's anything wrong with that.
The product costs 1,000 yen (about $12.50) and contains 10 sachets, each filled with 1 gram of collagen powder. Simply add one sachet of powder to your empty mug, then fill with beer from a bottle, can or draft tap.
The lush head that tops your tipple is loaded with collagen so don't make like a beer snob and blow it off – slurp it up like a trooper and let the collagen do its thing to your hair, skin and nails.
Health authorities and beauty experts remain divided on the true benefits – if any – derived from consuming collagen as a nutritional supplement and this review only reports the manufacturer's claims.
YMMV as always but hey: if drinking collagen-infused beer won't make you more attractive, just let the object of your desire do the drinking. Beauty, eh? (via Walker Plus)
