The Cube By Cubify: The 3D Printer For The Home
Printing in 3D is not just for large companies with experidence CAD personnel any more. Now you can have a small 3D printer in your home or studio with the Cube by Cubify. While the unit is still fairly pricey, it may be just the thing for your home business or to encourage that future draftsman who is still living in your basement.
Unlike the larger commercial models of 3D printers, Cube is designed to be user-friendly and not quite so techy. It is meant to be fun as well as useful. With Cube you can make your own toys, jewelry, chess pieces, and napkin rings (among other things).
The machine measures 10"X10"X13" and creates objects up to 5..5" all the way around using plastic jet printing technology. The printer can be hooked up to your PC either by a USB port or through WiFI.
The plastic comes in cartridges sold by Cubify, so you can just plug in your color choice and go. There are 16 different colors available including metallic silver and glow in the dark shades. It comes with 25 3D patterns to try out. You can also shop online for additional designs. To check out available designs, click here.
If you have the necessary nerd skills, you can even create your own designs and bring them to life. To find out more about the Cube by Cubify, click here.
