The Derma Roller Uses Micro-Needling To Rejuvinate Skin

Beauty treatment or self-inflicted suffering?  You decide.  The Scientia Derma Roller is a hand-held device that is meant to be rolled over any part of the skin that is in need of some help.  The roller holds tiny surgical steel needles that penetrate the top layer of the skin and reportedly boost the body’s collagen production in the area.  The company states that wrinkles, scars and stretch marks can all be prevented and lessened with regular use of this product because all of the issues are the result of a lack of collagen.

Amazingly, the site claims that the process (as long as it is used with only light pressure) does not hurt, only creates a tickling sensation and should not cause any bleeding.  It is even said to be safe for use on the delicate skin around the eyes, which is an area that most people who are interested in anti-aging would probably like to work on.  They say that the concept behind the Derma Roller is that is fools the skin into continually repairing the area being treated, rather than leaving it to its regular, more slow paced renewal process.

Even people with sensitive skin are said to be able to safely use this device without causing any harm to the skin.  In addition, for about an hour after use the skin is reportedly better able to absorb moisturizing products as the pores are opened up.(See Derma-Roller)
