That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Trapper Canoes is looking for a universal fishing rod holder for their series of canoes. The top five designers will win a really nice kayak for their efforts!
The “Canoe Rodholder Challenge” is pretty clear cut: Trapper Canoes needs an environmentally sustainable rod holder that is interchangeable with any sort of fishing rod. Submitted designs must be made of recyclable materials such as wood, cork, leather, etc., be easily installed or removed without damaging the canoe, and must include a method to mount the holder to a canoe, a system to rotate the rod holder and the rod holder itself. Remember, Trapper Canoes is looking for simple solutions with this pending product, so don’t overthink this one!
1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners earn a Tahe Marine Fit 147 PE kayak!
If you’re interested in developing outdoor products, helping Trapper Canoes to design their new canoe-based rod holder would be an absolutely huge boost to your portfolio, not to mention that the first, second and third place designers win Tahe Marine Fit 147 PE kayaks and that fourth and fifth place win Tahe Marine Fit 132 PE kayaks is pretty great too! After all, a fishing trip sounds like a fantastic reward for your awesome design work!
All in all, you need to make sure that your rod holder is made to fit all fishing rods, easy to use/install, environmentally friendly, able to be mass produced, and that the design matches the Trapper Canoes branding. Click here to send in your designs and drawings, as well as more information about the rules for the Canoe Rodholder Challenge, but you’ve only got until November 7th to send in your work, so get to it!
