DIY Moon Shadows With GUAU Lighting Design

El Último Grito (the team of Rosario Hurtado and Roberto Feo) working with the Spanish design house Arturo Alvarez won a Red Dot Design Award this year for making 'shadow play' a breeze with their new moon lighting design. The design itself is called the Guau, which translates as woof woof, or bow wow, or howl.  But "El Último Grito," the pair that designed Guau, (coincidentally?) means The Ultimate Howl!

Maybe it won't fool your dog, but the Guau, or a grouping of them on your wall or ceiling would surely provide some great ambience in your home.

The mountable metal plates allow you to direct the light where you want it and moon shadow at the same time.  The dark plates even let you create a lunar eclipse.

In this video you can see some of the effects that can be made with the Guau.
