A short while back, we brought you news of the new all electric vehicle from Dodge, at the time just called the EV. Dodge brought the EV to Detroit this year and provided a few additional pieces of information.
The official name of the Lotus inspired EV is the Dodge Circuit. Powering the Circuit is a 200Kw (268 horsepower) electric motor that requires not petroleum engine to charge, and therefore produces no tailpipe emissions.
On a single charge the Lithium-Ion batteries are expected to travel between 150 and 200 miles, which is nearly triple the average daily commute across America. Charging time is about 7 hours on a 110 volt outlet. That time can be cut in half by using a 220 volt outlet.
Although the Circuit is definitely a performance car, the inside is still comfortable and houses all the expected features of a mid range performance vehicle. Premium sound system is included as well as cruise control. The seats are covered in premium leather, as is the instrument panel and center console.
Production details have not been released as of yet, but for the amount of time and development being centered on the Circuit, it would be a waste not to follow through.

tesla electric car bashed at topgear
Submitted on January 20th, 2009 by Anonymousi recently saw a similar car based on lotus elise on top gear. On the track it proved damn fast but the downsides were too many.
though it appears to be an electric car which car enthusiasts would actually like, it didn't run as much as the company claims. also the charging time was much slower and i could actually buy two lotus elise for the amount they were charging.
hydrogen fuel cells are a much better alternative than 6000 laptop batteries
