It’s that time again! Videogame enthusiasts from all over the world will be tuning in to their favorite gaming websites and video portals from June 11th through the 13th for huge reveals of brand new videogames, technology and other electronic entertainment related goodies. As always, I can’t wait!
This year’s E3 is going to be a memorable one for sure, as many of gaming’s top hardware and software developers, innovators, designers, artists, musicians, writers, coders and publishers will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center to showcase what they’ve been up to for the past year. While there will be tons of impressive surprises at the event, here are a few tidbits that we already know:
Microsoft Game Studios and Twisted Pixel will release Lococycle on Xbox Live Arcade in 2013.
Microsoft will reveal the future of the Xbox brand. Prepare to see the Xbox 360’s successor, along with new software and games for the upcoming Xbox platform. You can read more about that here.
This is the PlayStation 4 Controller.
Sony will share more about their PlayStation 4. We’ve seen the new console’s controller, a handful of tech demos and a few of the games that are currently in development for the PS4, but I’m sure that Sony has plenty to unload at E3.Rock Pikmin will be introduced in Nintendo's Pikmin 3 for the Wii U.
Here's hoping we hear about the delayed Crimson Dragon game for the Xbox 360's Kinect!
Nintendo won’t be making a big splash at E3, despite releasing the Wii’s replacement, the Wii U, last November. Instead, Nintendo is planning “several smaller events” to focus on drumming up support for the Wii U platform and its forthcoming software, like Pikmin 3 and the rerelease of EarthBound.
There will be a nice mix of industry giants and budding game studios, publishing houses and other companies related to the videogame industry at the event to proudly display all of their upcoming innovative and fun technology, so if you’d like to see the best of E3 2013, keep an eye on InventorSpot!
