Imagine what your life will be like 50 years from now? What new inventions will have changed life dramatically in 2059? How will people do their jobs? How are they educated? How do they travel, communicate, recover from illness or injury? Teens 12 to 17 are called upon to write about one invention that they see changing their own futures.
Inventors Digest is sponsoring a national youth essay contest in which teens aged 12 to 17 are asked to write a 500 word essay about one product, service, tool, or technology that will shape lives in 2059. The contest is being held to celebrate National Inventor's Month in August.
Other sponsors of the essay contest include the Lemelson Center at the Smithsonian, National Inventors Hall of Fame and Microsoft's Imagine Cup. Contest prizes will include a laptop computer, publication of essays in Inventors Digest magazine, and an opportunity to appear on PBS's Everyday Edisons television program.
At this writing, no specifics have been posted. For specific information, including contest rules and entry forms, keep checking the Inventors Digest announcement page, or return to this page for appropriate links.
