The Five Coolest Computer Mice
It seems like the design of computer peripherals has evolved beyond a simple business process into a form of art all its own. Unless you're scraping about and buying the cheapest stuff on the market, virtually everything's become stylized in some way- particularly computer mice. Here's some of the coolest I've seen while wandering about the internet.
The Microsoft Arc Touch
What makes this such a unique product? Well, for one...it's completely flexible. Further, curving the body of the mouse upwards actually powers this nifty little gadget on. As if that's not cool enough, it features a touchpad with a tiny motor embedded in to duplicate the feeling of a track wheel. Not sure what the purpose of that last part is, but it's pretty cool, nonetheless.
You can pick one up for around forty five dollars on Amazon
The Saitek Cyborg RAT 9
Here's an entry for all the gamers out there. Now, I made a tough choice here- in terms of what I was going to put in this spot, I had to choose between this beauty and the Razer Naga Epic. While the Naga Epic is cool....The Cyborg is just plain awesome. It's got ridiculous precision, customizeable weight and sensitivity, several programmable settings based on what you're doing, and it's even got a thumbrest.
Sadly, it's the most expensive item on this list, at a retail value of $149.00...But you get what you pay for.
This mouse is probably one of the coolest I've ever seen-even though it's not really a 'mouse' in the traditional sense. Designed by a company known as Deanmark to reduce carpal tunnel syndrome, It's a supportive glove/exoskeleton that you put onto your hand. It consists of a 2d motion sensor and two sensor buttons that function as the mouse buttons. It's not available yet, but it's probably going to retail for around $129.00(Walyou). I don't know when it's hitting the market, but when it does...I want one.
The Trypticon Mouse
If you were ever a fan of transformers, you will absolutely love this next one. It's a fully functional mouse that can transform into a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Do I really even need to say anything else? My inner child is squealing with delight just looking at the thing. Aside from the awesome 'transforming' bit, it's pretty much just a standard, three button usb mouse. It retails for around $34.99-$70.00 on Amazon here.
The Sony Phone Mouse
So, yeah. This mouse right here? Turns into a phone. Christened the VN-CX1/B, this interesting device can flip open to be used as a phone for voice chat. So if you ever wanted the illusion that you're actually on the phone while using Skype, pick yourself up one of these. Me, I just think it's a pretty nifty innovation. Sadly, Sony's discontinued this one. It's a shame, too- this is actually a pretty sharp looking mouse, if you're judging it based on style alone.
