The Fontessa, Gaetano Pesce's Innovative Customizable Shoe
If you're not too skittish to plop down $120 on a pair of shoes these days, then you have to have to plop it down on the Fontessa. These fashion firsts, designed by Brazilian artist/architect Gaetano Pesce, are right in step with today's customizable products....

Aside from being totally stunning, these bubble droplet shoes, made of a proprietary PVC called Melflex by Mellissa Shoes of Brazil, are customizable. They are ready-to-wear or ready-to-cut!
Fontessa droplets are intended to be cut away by the owner according to her own vision of the shoes - a vision that, like fashion itself, can change over time.: image via lozephyr.tumblr.com
Pesce, who has collaborated with the Campana brothers, Jean Paul Gaultier, Zaha Hadid, and Vivienne Westwood to create other innovations in footwear, says of the Fontessa:
"You can wear the original shape a couple of times and then start cutting and recreating as time goes by. Shape comes into play only at the end of a process and is merely opportunistic. It's the outcome of the original idea. It's imponderable."
You can find the Fontessa in shiny black and clear at Moss Online.
