Full Moon Sideboard Glows in the Dark

the breakdownthe breakdown

This Full Moon sideboard, designed by Sotirios Papadopoulos, is a limited edition of a mere twenty-four pieces, produced by Italian design company Ennezero.   Making this piece particularly compelling is the addition of the lovely form of la luna, very realistically rendered with an eco-friendly paint called ELI (short for "Ecolightinside"), invented by Mr. Papadopoulos himself.  Not just your average, boring old eco-friendly paint, this stuff actually creates special effects in the dark, meaning it gloooows.  Coolio, Julio.   According to the artist, ELI is a gel-coat that's modified from a special ecological powder.

And just some random tidbits pulled from an online interview with Mr. Papadapoulous: Luxury to him is defined as "something that makes your existence more tolerable" (ain't that the truth?), and when asked to define design, he declared it was the "tenth Muse." Oh, how lovely.

Fullmoon sideboard will be on display at the SOHO gallery in Milan for the "dEMOsign" exhibition (that capital emo is no mistake, so look for a bit o' melancholy), which he happens to be curating.
