Girl Scout Cookies Go Hi-Tech - Find Cookies NOW!
It’s Girl Scout Cookie time (or almost time depending on what part of the country you’re in) and unless you know someone who is in the Girls Scouts of the USA the problem is always about finding them before they’re gone. Well GSUSA has solved that problem this year with help from technology. Yes, Girl Scout Cookies have gone digital! Now you can locate your favorite cookie with ease with the iPhone app from GSUSA called Cookie Finder.
Where can I find Thin Mints? Yes, there’s an app for that! In my area are they called Samoas or Caramel deLites? There’s an app for that too. There’s some new cookies plus the old favorites this year.
A little known fact is that some of the cookies have different names depending on which part of the country you’re in. The cookies being offered this year are listed below:
• Thin Mints
• Samoas or Caramel deLites
• Trefoils or Shortbread
• Do-Si-Dos or Peanut Butter Sandwich
• Dulce de Leche
• Thank U Berry Munch
• Shout Outs
• Savannah Smiles
You can also do it the less mobile way and find your local council or check out their Twitter and Facebook pages.
Although the GSUSA didn’t make an Android app, lucky for us Android geeks the Kellogg company did. It is called the Cookie Locator. Kellogg also makes an iPhone app so you may want to try them both to see what you like the best.
Kellogg’s app is called Cookie Locator and can work via GPS or City, State/Zip Code. It will send out alerts to let you know when cookies are available in your neighborhood and can even tell you your cookie personality.
I’m a Thin Mint: Popular, strong and confident. What cookie are you?
