Good Vibes at ThankingOfYou.com

Do you ever have those moments when you look back upon your past and think of someone who greatly impacted your life?  Ever wish that you could reach back and give them a personal "Thank You" for being such an influence?  This, and many other themes of gratitude, is the basis of a new social website called ThankingOfYou.com.

The site requires a quick and easy registration, then you can begin groveling at the feet of everyone who did you right over the years.  Of course, they might not see it until they join up, too.  But the spirit on ThankingOfYou.com is really mellow and positive, and we could all use a bit more of that in our daily lives.  The site has features like many other social networking sites, including pictures, profiles, friends, invitations, and overview of your network (on this site it's called "My World" and "My Messages of Thanks").

The site is infantile, as in it was only launched as of the beginning of May.  So, naturally, it will take some time to see if the site catches on social network fire like Facebook.  Your guess is as good as ours as to whether or not that will ever happen.  You can never predict what's going to catch that viral wildfire, though you can take educated guesses.  Looking at ThankingOfYou in that light, it seems like a cool idea that many people are sure to embrace, though it probably won't inflate to the likes of Twitter, Facebook, etc.  But, who knows?

If you have a deep appreciation of the people in your life that got you to where you are today, it's worth the couple minutes it takes to set up an account, if only to create an online documentation of your gratitude.  If you know the person you're thanking, then you can easily send it to them, and everyone loves good vibes, right?  On the other hand, if you are no longer in contact with the person, at least you can perserve your message to them on the internet, and maybe they'll find it someday.  Either way, take a look at this brand new service and let us know who you're thanking in the comments.
