Green Lawnmower For the Lazy Environmentalists

Once upon a time lazy environmentalists, like me, tired of pushing our push reel mowers, dreamed of an eco-friendly automatic lawnmower that would cut our lawns on it’s own. Helping us live our green lives more conveniently. Luckily, I have a friend who thinks about me and sends me links like the one for the Robomower Automatic Lawnmower RL-1000.

The RL-1000 is a battery powered mulching lawnmower with a Triple-Chamber-Mulching system, a three blade, 21"powerful cutting system (equivalent to a 5.5 HP traditional gas mower), an adjustable height setting (from 1.5 to 3.5 inches) and a docking station for automatic battery charging.

A one time set up perimeter wire is pegged down or buried around the perimeter of the lawn to keep the RL-1000 in check. In other words, the wire contains the RL-1000 within the perimeter.

To make the RL-1000 automatically mow, the time can be confiigured weekly, monthly or whatever makes you happy. It can also be driven manually by a manual remote control. When the RL-1000 battery is low or has run out of time it will return to the dock

Rl-1000 cuts the grass in several directions and in small clippings, which means it will not leave stripes on your lawn after cutting. Also, because of the Triple-Chamber-Mulching system grass clippings come out very small and there is no need to collect and remove the clippings. In addition, safety features include: Sensor equipped bumpers, mower lift detection and child lock.

As impressive as it was to read about the RL-1000 I wondered if there was an advanced more updated version of this innovative idea could be. Solar powered maybe? Guess what? There is.

In March of this year, Husqvarna, the world's largest lawnmower manufacturer, introduced the world's first automatic electric solar powered hybrid robotic lawnmower. Like the RL-1000 it is quiet, made for eco-convenience and has a docking station, safety features, etc. The main difference of course is that the new version is solar charged.

Want to see the automatic electric solar powered hybrid robotic lawnmower in action? Take a look at this:

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find where the automatic electric solar powered hybrid robotic lawnmower is out on the market. I’d love to get my hands on one of these.

How good cut is it

Great little invention although I am sceptical about how good it would do the job.
