Handmade Guitar Backpack Can Carry More Than a Tune
This finely detailed, handmade Guitar Backpack from Japan's Ito Manufacturing is based on Gibson's legendary Les Paul electric guitar but gives you more... like a soft, lined interior suitable for storing all your light favorite travel needs.
Ito Manufacturing, located in downtown Tokyo's Yanaka Ginza shopping district, specializes in making hip, trendy, high-quality products and clothing that reflect inspired design and hand-made durability. We've featured their Cool Cat Hoodie and Grilled Fish Pencil Case here previously but this new, colorful Guitar Backpack really stands out in a crowd.
Measuring 42 x 32 x 6cm (16.8 by 12.8 by 2.4 inches), the backpack boasts incredible detailing in its canvas, cotton twill and felt construction. Check out those faux rhythm/treble, volume and tone knobs... they may not go to 11 but they'll go a long way towards cementing your cool fashion cred!
Unzip the bag to reveal the interior, which also exudes quality and a sense of style. The lining is rendered in a pleasing pattern and two tags are sewn in: Ito Manufacturing's proprietary info tag and just to its right, the “Handmade Works” ID tag.
The Guitar Backpack has some metal parts that aren't rendered in soft gray felt, mainly the attachment points for the included black, red & white carrying strap. Even the strap displays the hallmarks of quality manufacturing – it won't let you OR your bag down when it counts.
Ito Manufacturing's cool Guitar Backpack comes in one color only (Sunset Orange) but that's not a complaint – it looks smashing! Er, don't tell Pete Townshend we said that.
Also, let little Johnny know he's not to borrow your backpack to drag his homework and lunch to school: it's priced at a hefty 38,000 yen (about $495), and that doesn't even include shipping. If you're after a unique, attractive work of gently usable art, however, go ahead and place your order direct from the Ito Manufacturing website.
