Hennessey Takes Ford's New F-150 Truck To The Max With The 2015 VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged

The 2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged picks up where the late and lamented Hennessey SVT Raptor 6.2L leaves off. Only 500 units of this true monster truck will be built for 2015, though buyers with $75,000 to spend can conveniently order one at their nearest Ford dealer.

Sealy, Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering was founded in 1991 and has since established itself as a respected tuner specializing in modifying sports cars, supercars and yes... pick-up trucks. From 2010 through 2014, the firm built & sold Hennessey SVT Raptor 6.2L trucks amped to 411hp – possibly the most powerful 4x4 trucks consumers could buy. Ford ceased production of the Raptor at the end of the 2014 model year, however, prompting Hennessey to look to the new F-150 for its template.

Ford's new-for-2015 aluminum-bodied F-150 may provide a larger platform for Hennessey's performance upgrades but one that's not near as heavy as expected – credit the use of aluminum over sheet steel for shaving nearly 700 pounds off Ford's standard bearer.

Hennessey takes full advantage of that gift by installing a Roots-type supercharger on the F-150's 5.0L V8, goosing power output to over 600 hp... in a truck, for pete's sake! Those sharp-looking 17-inch Hennessey wheels are shod with 33-inch BFGoodrich tires to ensure every pony meets the pavement. Hennessey offers buyers a range of non-performance options to better personalize their personal monster truck such as Brembo brakes, LED light bars, a custom off-road coilover suspension, a front winch, and upgraded front & rear bumpers. Indeed, this is one truck you'll want to keep on truckin' in.
