The "Let's Move" initiative and fitness competition marked its second anniversary in February, 2012 when First Lady Michelle Obama invited talk show host Jimmy Fallon to the White House. Starting with a race up the White House staircase, to push-ups, the challenged stepped it up with Tug of War, Hula Hoops, Dodgeball and even a Potato Sack Race, accompanied by the motivational anthems of "The Eye of the Tiger" and "Chariots of Fire." Even the first dog "BO" got into the act.
LetsMove.gov is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams.
Combining comprehensive strategies with common sense, Let's Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years. Giving parents helpful information and fostering environments that support healthy choices. Providing healthier foods in our schools. Ensuring that every family has access to healthy, affordable food. And, helping kids become more physically active.
Well, as competitive as the First Lady and Jimmy Fallon are, it was no surprise that a 'rematch" was going to be in the works for 2013. However, Fallon was reticent in putting out the offer when the First Lady visited his show recently this month.
However, preempting that segment, the two competitors took to the Twitterverse to kick off a 140-character shout-out repartee via Twitter, complete with their best "game faces."
Then Michelle stepped it up some.
To which Fallon relayed the "game face" challenge.
This was followed by MO volleying back a competitive "coming for you" tweet!
Then the game was officially on when the First Lady's second surprise appearance on the show. This time she joined Fallon in a hilarious dance routine, they labeled, "Evolution of Mom Dancing," where once again MO was victorious -- this time out-dancing the talk show host to the "Dougie."
All that was left out of this rematch (which would have been the icing on the cake) is to have our hot First Lady get jiggy to the pop tune "She Bangs." However in her explanation on the Rachael Ray Show, she dismisses her new look as her way of handling her mid-life crisis. You sell it girl! You gotta love FLOTUS!
