How To Make Your Own Custom Fisheye Lens
A fisheye lens is an expensive purchase for anyone looking to try something different when it comes to filmmaking. The price alone can turn off any aspiring videographer. But what if you could make your own lens that costs around $10?
Matt Hallock has come up with a strategy to building your own fisheye lens for cheap. By venturing through a hardware store, Hallock was able to piece different parts together to make a lens that was compatible with his Nikon D-50 model.
For the project, the inventor used a coupling, a ¾ inch pipe and a door viewer. By connecting each piece, he was able to create a custom fisheye lens that gets you 90 per cent of the original special effect.
