Impulsive Flyers - JetBlue Special -$10 Seat Sale For Last-Minute Trips

JetBlue, one of the airlines that has been the most successful social media player is using traditional media channels to publicize its last-minute specials to 50 of its domestic destinations this Tuesday and Wednesday (May 11 through May12).

The airline is selling all remaining seats on non-stop flights for $10 each way. According to an AP wire service release, there is no indication how many seats are still available, but JetBlue Airways Corp. based in Forest Hills, NY serves 61 cities in the US, Caribbean and Central America with 650 flights per day - and none fly anywhere near the Icelandic volcano ash cloud.

The promotion is to celebrate a decade of service and these promo tickets are only available for online bookings. In order to get the deal, travel must be booked on the JetBlue Web site by 11:59 p.m. ET Monday night.

Most of the discounted fares originate from JetBlue's home base at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Destinations range from close hauls such as Boston to Caribbean locations that includes Saint Lucia. JetBlue has run one-day sales before, mostly for slower-travel dates surrounding hot travel periods like Thanksgiving and Christmas. It often advertises these short promotions on its Twitter feed.

Important to note that unless you depart on Tuesday and return on Wednesday, the cost of a return flight will be normally priced.

I guess this is one way JetBlue can make it up to its loyal passengers after receiving so much negative publicity back in 2007, when its passengers on a Cancun-bound flight were trapped on the tarmac for eight hours at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
