Jelloware: Edible, Eco(ble), Drinking Glasses Not Made From Jell-O
A quartet of sparkling young minds form a design consultancy called The Way We See The World. Their designs are so thoughtful, so fresh and alive, you feel like you could pick them off your screen and put them to use immediately. And this is especially true for Jelloware, the edible, eco-ble (Okay, I made that word up.) drinking glass.
The concept of an edible drinking glass may not be new, but I'm willing to bet that there never was one that was made to taste good, Or, be used as a guerrilla gardening fertilizer.
You see the 'glass' is made of agar agar, a gelatinous sugar substance derived from red algae that is used in food preparation, laboratories, fabric making, and even as a laxative! But eco-wise, agar is great nourishment for plant life, and it's biodegradable.
So you can suit yourself. If you want to eat the Jelloware, cast in flavors such as lemon-basil, ginger-mint, and rosemary-beet - all designed to correspond with specific beverages - you may eat your glass.
Well, just taste it if you like, and then throw the rest of it in the grass.
