Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter Was The Winner In Facebook Contest

If you wanted to be one of the first to see the teaser for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, you  had to jump down the Facebook rabbit hole and choose sides quickly. Tim Burton's marketing minions published 'fan army' pages for the White Queen, the Red Queen and Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter, and the ploy was to get you become the loyal or disloyal subject of one of them. Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter turned out to be the hands-down winner!

Unfortunately as soon as I posted the 'released' sneak preview...DIsney in its inimical 'controlling' fashion seized the video so sites like ours could no longer share it with our readers!!!

So in its place, here is the another sneak preview which I think is just as good...

Now you are  one of the first lucky fans to see Johnny Depp in the new Alice In Wonderland  teaser trailer! He's was the odds-on favorite and the winner in the Facebook Contest. As of this posting, he's tallied over 21,000 fans while the Red and White Queen ended up duking it out with 5000 apiece.

The trailer for the film made  its animated debut at Comic-Con this week, after the winners of the Facebook contest got to see it first.

The film will be released on March 5th, 2010 and my previous blog will provide you with some detail on 'performance capture,' the new technology used in this film that synthesizes live action with the animation, similar to the technique used in Beowulf.

Sorry, there were no Facebook Fan Pages for TweedleDee and TweedleDum!
