Laid Off, A Chemist Invents A Very Relevant Gadget: The Magic Toob Lampshade Leveler

Magic Tube Lampshade LevelerMagic Tube Lampshade Leveler I suspect your response to a lampshade leveler is going to be "So what."  Mine was too... until I learned how universally relevant this little gadget is now, and will be in the next few years.

You see the U.S. government, under the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act, is mandating that all incandescent light bulbs be off the market by 2014, and that they be replaced by energy efficient lighting.   Beginning in 2012, the 100 watt incandescent bulbs will be off the market, in 2013, all the 75 watt incandescents go, and in 2014, all the lesser watt bulbs will follow suit.

Energy efficient light bulbs are on the market; a General Electric survey indicated that 83 percent of responders have started to used them, even though they are not mandatory.  They are more expensive than traditional incandescent bulbs, but they last many times longer and use far less electricity.  The least expensive of the new energy-efficient light bulbs are the spiral-shaped compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) - right now about one-quarter to one-fifth the price of other energy efficient light bulbs.

Okay. Now, why will you need a Magic Toob Lampshade Leveler?  Well, if you've had any difficulty so far in getting your clip-on lampshades to fit  over one of those spiral CFL dudes, you already know why; they don't fit.

Jack D'Alelio was trying to get one of his clip-on lampshades to fit over a CFL and he ended up creating a solution that has become a patent pending new product at The Daily Grommet! And more retailers to come!

D'Alelio, a chemist by training,  had been working as a quality professional in biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical devices for 30 years when he was laid off - "again," as he states. He had decided to strike out on his own and formed Nimble Jack Enterprises, committed to providing solutions to every day problems.  The Magic Toob Lampshade Leveler is his first solution, and one that drew from his experience as a chemist too, as he had worked with the main material, high temperature silicon tubing.

The Magic Toob Lampshade Leveler not only saves you from having to purchase new lampshades, but it lets you buy the spiral shaped CFL's instead of the round CFL's. Here's Mr. D'Alelio to tell you why that's desirable...

Stock up now on incandescent bulbs!

Many people are doing just that.

Fluorescent bulbs may use less electricity but are not good for your eyes. The color is too blue and the constant flicker of the bulb, even though you may not notice it, can cause headaches or even seizures if you already suffer from them. They are not environmentally friendly either, no matter what the 'green' sellers are spewing. The contain hazardous gases which contaminate the environment both in the manufacture and the disposal.

A better alternative is LEDs. They are more expensive but last a very long time and are not hot like incandescents. Manufacturers are working now on producing an LED which is more natural in color, not so glaringly white as now.

How many lamps any more use this type of lamp shade?

If you were a chemist, and this is the best thing you could come up with, chances are I would say, thay you were not a very good chemist either.

Well done you shown that you have very little self worth. Spending your time putting other people down is very childish and shows you have very little to do.

Re: Dumb Did you ever stop

Re: Dumb
Did you ever stop to think that it is cheaper to make clip on lampshades than what is being used today? They reason they began using the new design of shade is because it became difficult to fit the clip on type over the CFL bulbs. Once lampshade manufacturers become aware of the Magic Toob Leveler their problems will be solved.
They can once again begin to manufacture a cheaper lampshade, which will lower their production costs, and consumers will be buying them again since they will be able to fit them over the CFL bulbs. Not only are they cheaper to make, they are cheaper to purchase, and they are more lightweight than the other style of lampshade. It will be a win-win situation for all.
