Land Peel: Pop-Up Furniture From A Floor Mat

Shin Yamashita, an industrial design student at Kyoto Institute of Technology, has created one of the most charming portable living areas I've seen.  The fact that it might remind you of a doll's house is not a surprise.  The multi-purpose furniture pop-ups are miniature, and one does have to enjoy low seating because there are no options.

The Land Peel, aptly named, is a three piece mat set, comfortable enough to lie on, but adaptive enough to fold into tables, desks, and/or seats, back-rests actually, that are neat for reading or watching TV.

The Land Peel would be very useful for young children, college students, and visiting friends and relatives, if they are spry....
