LG 2010 Competition For The Best Design Of The Future Mobile Phone

Wouldn't you love to be the designer of the future mobile phone - one so revolutionary that the competition trips over each other getting out copies of it?  Well, for the third year, LG Mobile Phones is giving you a chance.  So, start imagining!

Hi-Fi Mobile Phone by Emily Albinski, 2009 LG Winner LG has teamed up with crowdSPRING and Autodesk to sponsor the competition, as they did last year, when the competition was won by Emily Albinski for her Hi-Fi cell phone.  The phone folds up small enough to fit in a laptop slot and opens up into a really unique headphone.  Pretty cool.

The competition will award 40 entries. This years prizes include....

• First place: $20,000 cash award + 1 Wacom Intuos4 medium tablet (ARV of $349) + Autodesk industrial design software (ARV of $500)

• Second place: $10,000 Cash Award + Autodesk SketchBook Pro software (ARV of $100)

• Third place: $5,000 Cash Award + Autodesk SketchBook Pro software (ARV of $100

• Prop Master's Choice: $3,000 Cash Award +Autodesk SketchBook Pro software (ARV of $100) + 1 non-working concept mock-up creation (ARV of $4,000)

• 37 Honorable Mentions: $1,000 Cash Award

The new prize is the Prop Master's Choice Award which is very cool.  The winner will get to see his or her design prototyped for the silver screen!

You don't have to worry about being a newbie to design. LG has lots of resources for you and it even lends you the Autodesk SketchBook Pro software for 15 days to help you sketch your designs.  Just go to the CrowdSPRING/LG competition website, and you'll find everything, step by step, to speed your process.

Speaking of speed, the deadline for entries is April 26, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. PST.  Winners will be announced on May 14, 2010 at www.crowdspring.com/LG/winners.
