Gen2Media Corporation announced that it will be featuring indy music on Xbox LIVE's e360live.com. This site will feature classic original programming from all music genres from
independent and up and coming artists, along with original content from
today's most popular artists. This means that you can find your favorite artist now, and your favorite in 6 months before you knew thier name.
e360live.com is creating exclusive original content in all genres
for Xbox LIVE users, including rare and personal behind-the-scenes
footage with performances from up and coming artists. Though few people are likely to watch interviews on their Xbox, the idea that users can get access to great music, and might be able to watch those interviews (and transfer the music of course) to their MP3 player is definetly a tempting one. To be a bt speculative however, it is likely that any future download features would only be avaliable to users of the Zune.
"As a company, we are passionate about creating the most engaging
entertainment experiences for our customers in every venue," said Mary
Spio, president of Gen2. "Our team has produced and delivered cutting
edge music and video content to millions of fans for over 15 years, and
in so doing we have worked with some of the world's biggest artists, so
we know what the consumer wants to see, how they want to see it, and we
deliver exactly what they want."
Gen2 CEO James Byrd added, "We have continually raised the bar on
creating and delivering the very best content to our customers. Working
with Microsoft is a major step toward achieving our goal of being the
definitive provider of the most desirable online interactive content in
the world today."
"We are always looking to bring the best content to our members,"
said Scott Nocas, Group Product Manager for Xbox LIVE Video Programming
and Original Content. "When we looked at what Gen2Media could offer in
terms of access to artists and events, both legendary and on the
cutting edge, we knew that they could provide content our consumers
will love. We are excited to offer this content to our 14-million
active Xbox LIVE members."
