Instead of concentrating on a season where the team is at a disappointing third place in their division, the New York Yankees are focused on hard rock.
Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment has inked a deal with the baseball team to open two restaurants in the new Yankee Stadium. The Orland-based company is hoping to open a 7,000 square foot Hard Rock Café in the right field of the stadium in April 2009.
The stadium will also feature a new restaurant called NYY Steak, which will be located right above the Hard Rock Café. Patrons without tickets will be able to eat in both restaurants on game days, but won’t be able to see the Yankees play as the field isn’t visible from either restaurant.
The announcement of the restaurants was made at the first news conference held at the under-construction stadium. In attendance was New York Yankees shortstop Alex Rodriguez who signed a Hard Rock guitar replica at the event.
