NKOTB Contest Reveals Tink! & Flies Winners To NYC

In an effort to capitalize on the buzz created by "tink!" Jordan Knight and other members of the New Kids on the Block band will be flying two "contest winning" fans to NYC. The viral social media experiment originally initiated by Knight on Twitter appears to have formulated a life of its own as NKOTB fans have been tweeting themselves silly trying to figure out just what tink! means.
Jordan KnightMy previous blog and poll details how Jordan surprised himself when he realized that a simple tweet could stimulate tens of thousands of tweets from his tweetin' fan base and start trending on Twitter for over a 4 day period. And with each new tweet, you could almost hear his female fans screaming across the twitterverse for more and more!
I personally was inundated with over 1000 "hate" tweets by fans who didn't take lightly when I 
described Jordan Knight as an "aging boy band troubadour"in my previous blog. One sassy tweep that goes by the handle "@ShyPerversion" actually "twitter slapped" me each and every time I issued a new tweet that referenced tink! I have since learned my lesson by "tinking before I tweet!"
So I can speak from experience that his followers come from a hearty stock. They may have been in hibernation for the last decade while NKOTB were regrouping for their comeback, but they're wide awake now and willing to beat down all naysayers who don't talk 'nice' about their favorite boy band (now men in their mid to late thirties.) However one does have to wonder if Elizabeth Hasselbeck from The View is a fan what that means for the future of NKOTB (I'm just saying...) Perhaps this video will illustrate my point...
Donnie Wahlberg probably describes his followers best when he proudly claimed in one of his recent tweets that he "doesn't need CNN and Ashton Kutcher's million tweeps because he's got 50,000 soldiers who are fearless and come armed with love."
In any event if you want to get involved with the "New Kids on the Block contest" will send two lucky winners to NYC May 8, 2009 to watch them perform on the Today Show. To qualify, fans are requires to send an email to: jk.todayshow.contest@gmail.com with responses to the following questions. Jordan Knight talks more about the details on this video
Insider's tip: Before sending in your submission, go to Twitter's "search page" and type in "tink." Then review all the tweets that talk about the contest and what the fans are thinking! Might give you some ideas of where the collective mindset of the NKOTB fan base is going!

2. Address
3. e-mail address
3a. Date of Birth
4. Are you a member of the NKOTB community? What is your screen name?
4a. What’s your occupation or vocation?
4b. Anything else you want to share about you?
5. Have you been to any new kids shows lately? Which one? How did you like it? Can you share your experience?
6. Will you be attending any shows this summer?
7. What song would you like to see that you haven’t seen the new kids perform?
8. What’s your favorite NKOTB song from the past? What’s your favorite from “the block”
9. Why do you think you are the “lucky one” to be flown to NYC to see the performance at the today show. Why should I pick you?

Restrictions are as follows:
-only complete questionnaires will be accepted
-one (1) email per person
-one (1) entry per email
-answers will ONLY be accepted by email

I'm glad you learned your lesson...many others haven't caught on to the army that Donnie referred to, and when they do, all hell breaks loose. New Kids fans aka Blockheads (seriously) refuse and will not tolerate any foolishness or nonsense about these five men who have changed their lives in many ways through out the years. You juast need to doouble check you facts before you right because other will correct you when you are wrong.Now I wont be mean or nasty but I will be respectfull. We as teens back in the day heard ourselves be disresppected by media and commerical outlets.Now they know that age group is a major market and is overflooding by kids taking a stab at it. Now as gwrown ladies andsome loyal male fans we take a stand we wont be label they way we were and we wont let our guys by labeled that way.RESPECT is what we want and Respect is what we should give.I am sorry that toehrs ahve been cruel or hurtfull but dont doubt all us fans .We should defend but choose dacorumand tact whe nwe do it.

Good to see a positive side to this
We have a huge population of fans who are diverse and most definately not everyone is critical of the media .... its a good possibility those of us who are come by it honestly, meaning picture yourself in the late 90's as the nkotb phenomenon is sweeping through your city and you own every album and single...and your room is wallpapered with teen beat posters from ceiling to floor... but don't speak of it in school for fear of ridicule from your peers. Being the slightly timid 14 year old that I was then I did not have the guts to stick up for myself like I do now and I am fiercely proud to be a fan of this group of men who are truly inspirational. Glad to see you in a different light .

Thank you for a positive review! Love The Block since way back when! Totally agree w/ The View's Elizabeth. Every word she said was 100% right! I remember doing the Hanging Tough dance at home and school: in middle school and HS! So much fun! I LOVE these guys then and now...I think even more so. Without a doubt the best reunion ever and no one could ever come close to these guys! When I get my new computer I will be all over the place!!!! So keep it up bro! :). TINK! HOLLA!

Total misconception, Ron. Even when the NKOTB were not a band, I still loyally followed the efforts of the guys~ saw the movies Donnie was in, bought all of Jordan's solo albums and saw him 4 times (thrice in '99 and once in 2005), bought Joe's first solo album and saw him as well in '99....I took notice of what the guys did in the interim. I was bummed when the MTV VMA appearance didn't happen, and you can bet your ass that when I heard about the VH1: Bands Reunited episode, I was tuned in a good 15 minutes before it started. I didn't hop on the bandwagon of loving the guys because they are visible in the mainstream~ I love them because they are talented, I love their music and their personalities......that love has stayed strong throughout the years and always will! Hibernation is for bears. And you want to know what Tink! is just as much as we do, why else would you keep asking about it and mentioning it? Jordan has sucked you in.....
