Global technology company Nvidia- best known as one of the leading video game OEMs on the market - will be hosting a press conference during the upcoming 2014 Consumer Electronics Show. The invitation-only event will be broadcast live at 8 PM PDT, where the organization will showcase a whole host of unspecificied "gaming innovations," along side its Tegra mobile technologies and "advanced automotive display technologies," explains the company.
Although Nvidia is best known amongst gaming enthusiasts for its line of graphics cards and processors, it seems likely that whatever announcement they make at the event will at least tangentially involve the Shield, a $250 portable gaming device which can play both mobile titles and stream several select PC titles. Perhaps we'll be seeing the unveiling of the Shield 2? We do know, after all, that's its in development at the moment.
The Shield 2 seems to be the most likely "gaming innovation" for Nvidia to unveil, but it's certainly not the only thing in their portfolio. The organization could easily be unveiling a new high-performance GPU or releasing more details on cloud gaming initiative GRID, as well. Whatever the case, it should make for an exciting show.
The press conference will be hosted in the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall 3, where it will also be broadcast live at 8 PM PDT. In addition to Nvidia, organizations such as Valve and a number of other third-party manufacturers will be present at CES- we'll be covering as much of it as we can. Count on it.
