If you've ever had the pleasure of watching Top Gear, you will know that anything with James May's touch is gold. His subtle sense of humor, considerable technical knowledge, and deadpan delivery make him one of the great presenters of our day.
Well, it turns out that May has been making another program on the BBC, called Man Lab. And it's everything you might imagine, as he "sets out to help modern man relearn some of the vital skills that are now in danger of being lost forever." Now entering its second season, James May's Man Lab now wants to involve you. Or, more specifically, your invention. Each week during the first episode, the show featured an Invention of the Week, namely a motorized picnic table, a wasp-destroying helicopter airforce, and a toilet paper empty alarm. All ground-breaking, critical inventions destined to save humankind from itself, to be sure, but all invented by May and his team.
So now it's your turn. If you have an invention that you think can match one of these, send your "videos, concept drawings, technical explanations, anything you've got," to firstname.lastname@example.org, marking your Subject Line with, "I've come up with this." Here is May's personal plea:
And here he is in a duel on Man Lab (I guess he must have won):
