Obama Fried Chicken, You're Gonna Get Served!

Why call on a mere Kentucky Colonel when you can chow down on chicken cooked by the Commander In Chief? Obama Fried Chicken, whose “OFC” logo features a crude caricature of the 44th President of the United States, was set up to serve students from nearby Beijing Aerospace City College campus... unless KFC China's lawyers "serve" the store's owners first.

Though KFC quickly issued a statement saying the new OFC store violates their trademark and legal measures will be pursued against the store's owners, actual action may be anything but quick. KFC's massive success in China has spawned a host of imitators that pop up faster than moles at a carnival Whack-a-Mole game. KMC, DFC, XMD, MFC, KLG, FCKF and now OFC... and business is booming!

Here's the strongly-worded statement on Obama Fried Chicken issued by KFC through a spokesman and reported by The Washington Post: “We're considering legal action as it is a knock-off and has nothing to do with us and it infringes on our brand trademark. We find it distasteful.”

Rather sanctimonious and a tad hypocritical, considering KFC China recently employed a Barack Obama lookalike (right) to flog the fast food chain's new chicken sandwiches on Chinese TV. Sort of a “do as I say, but not as I do” thing, hmm?

You've got to give credit to the owners of Obama Fried Chicken for sheer cheekiness, cockiness and chutzpah. The Chinese language text at the lower right side of the OFC store banner reads “We're so niubi (bleepin' awesome), aren't we?” Yes you are, Chinese chicken dudes, yes you are!
