Obama Sushi Adds Good Taste to the Executive Brunch

The "Obama Sushi" made by an exceptionally creative sushi chef pays tribute to America's 44th president in a most unusual - and dare I say, tasteful - manner.

There's still room for more Obama mania... if the room is the kitchen and you happen to be Kawasumi-sensei, a sushi chef who teaches at Tokyo University. Kawasumi has whipped up a feast for both the eyes and stomach that looks so good, it had to be framed.

Kawasumi-sensei's masterpiece features, in addition to a startlingly realistic pair of Obama futomaki rolls, a variety of nigiri-zushi and futomaki that together must cost any purchaser a hefty chunk of change - we can believe that! But while the cars and happy faces are undeniably cute, it's the Obama sushi that are the highlights.

Creating the perfect Obama futomaki roll took considerable trial and error according to Kawasumi-sensei. Careful selection of ingredients was just the start: brown rice for the skin, black sesame seeds for the hair, tiny shrimps for the lips and a gleaming fish-paste smile.

It appears that rich red Maguro tuna and white Ika (squid) were used to mold the stripes of the American flag, with cooked egg spelling out "USA" and, of course, a big "V" for Victory. (via JapanatorDixiworld, original Japanese page at MSN-Japan) and

those in glass houses....

Corrections:

1) Orator--refers to a person's ability to speak. You're replying to a WRITTEN comment, not a spoken one, so "orator" does not work.

2) What is is today: a world power, not "what it is today, a world power."

3) Americans, not "American's."

3) Uneducated, closed-minded racists, not "uneducated, close-minded, racists."

4) "Talking such slander on the 'ruler'" would probably be better phrased if you'd said something along the lines of "making such slanderous comments about the leader[....]"

If you're going to complain that someone else is making Americans sound uneducated, please try to sound educated when doing so.

Oh, and for the record, I voted for Obama twice, in case you think I should be brutally murdered as well.

*sigh..

All this comming from raw fish... political issues always have and always will touch a nerve. I'll say my 2 cents & leave.. spend them as you will. I have my opinions and they won't change just because the masses disagree with me... The economy, the war & everything surrounding the political, financial & general welfare of this great nation cannot be blamed, or fixed on any one individual president, or the cabinet members he selects. It takes a nation as a whole (especially one who's government is a democracy & not a monarchy) to get it in the condition it is in. Personally, i liked Bush as a president. He wasn't perfect, but he never claimed to be. He did more for the good & protection of this nation than the president before him who will always be more known for his relations with the one in the stained blue skirt than his political actions. ( kinda sad, & says a lot, you have to agree!! lol....well, ok, you don't HAVE to agree, that would be wrong of me to say!) I don't like Obama for many reasons, and it scares me more that the masses of people that are looking to him as the individual, sole acting savior of this nation. You want to see this great nation rise out of the crap it's in? Go back to your junior high (middle school for you younger crowd) civics class & think about the system of checks & balances to see how much power the president as an individual actually has & how things get done. It's only the people along with the government, (FOR the people BY the people.... sound familiar) that need to work together that will make things happen for the good once again. Not just because there's a new man in office. Ok, 2 cents spent... enjoy disagreeing, picking apart & arguing more. (oh, and not to mention the small handful of spelling errors that may be in the post i just typed.. but of course, any spelling errors makes one's opinions less true or more worthless!)

Newsworthy???

Obviously you haven't seen the story on the cover of the major newspaper in my city about the dog that ate $400 in cash and the owner that is trying to collect it...compared to that this IS newsworthy!

terror on american soil

Before 9/11, there was terror acts on American soil. The WTC was bombed once and two American embassies were bombed. Yes, the embassies were in other countries, but if you are in an American embassy, you are considered to be on American soil, just as if you are in a Canadian embassy in the US, you are on Canadian soil.

The only thing to fear is-- fear itself.

How many Americans died while Bush and his daddy were in office, vs how many were killed during Clinton's two terms? That tells you who has kept us safer -- the GOP or Dems.

People all over the world are celebrating because our new Democratic president means from now on, the answer to every question won't be "fear" or "9/11."
