With Oil At $100, Is Pipeline Seating A Surprise?
A superb studio seater, the Pipeline was designed by an American treasure, Harry Allen, for the Spanish design firm, Dune. Perfect for group seating in large spaces, there are plenty of ways to configure the modular 'pipes.'
But, if you want Piping for your home, you can order just one or two pieces, including 4-foot pipe, a cross connector, a t-connector, and an elbow connector that, if turned upward can serve as a table.
Pipeline looks anything but 'steel-like,' though it does keep some industrial finishes with its polished aluminum frames and legs - and the legs can be mounted into the floor for stability. The long cushions have an MDF (medium density fiberboard) and solid wood frame, and the upholstery is a polyurethane foam.
Of course, oil is not the only association with Pipeline. Pipeline is about making things happen and about connecting - starting with those seated on the Pipeline with you. After all, Pipeline itself is an easy conversation piece!
