The OOoo Chair: It May Be Invisible, But You Can Make It Yourself With No Materials

At Decker Yeadon the focus is on the environment - particularly on how new material technologies can lessen the impact on water and energy depletion while positively contributing to health, safety, and security.  The creation of the OOoo Chair, invisible though it may be, stands out as the chair design with the least impact on the environment, although I don't know about 'security.'

You can easily make your own OOoo Chair if you have a wooden floor and a basement.  The OOoo Chair, you see, is accomplished by drilling O-holes in your floor, so if you live in an apartment the OOoo Chair would likely be intrusive to your downstairs neighbor.

Using a router, two circles are cut in a wood floor, retained and nicely finished.  As well, you will want to finish (sand) the holes you've cut in your floor - OOoo is furniture, so you'll want to make it look nice. The holes are made for your legs, so you can sit comfortably on your floor, although you may want to slip a cushion under your bum for greater comfort. 

You will need two recyclable plastic rings to line the holes and help to steady the wood disks back in place when your OOoo Chair is not in use.

Now, about security.  The OOoo Chair is not wise furniture for those who have infants or small children for obvious reasons. 

Secondly, if you still have leftover fears of the creepy crawlers under your bed at night, they will probably return when you put your legs through the holes in your floor, and even a budge of a hair on your leg may trigger fears of black widows and brown recluse spiders just readying their poisons to...
