Pawel Grunert Still Finds Time To Design With A 'Re Purpose'

Just when you thought you'd seen the last soda bottle chandelier, table, or chair... Polish interior designer Pawel Grunert creates the bottle chair to end all bottle chairs: the Eco Chaise Lounge, a magnificent, dynamic sculptured work that's as organic in design as Grunert 's wood and steel masterpieces.

Designed especially for an ecological design exhibition at Milan's Colombari Gallery,  the ‘Eco Trans Pop,’ Grunert's Eco Chaise Lounge is a collection of dozens of PET soda bottles, arranged bottoms-up in a floral pattern that creates the soft, smooth appearance of a flowing meadow. The bottle tops, with their caps neatly tucked into Grunert's stainless steel frame, create the centipede-like base of the chaise lounge.

Though the Eco Chaise does not come with a guarantee, note that if the bottle show signs of wear, they can easily be replaced by another re-purposed soda bottle.  The Eco Chaise Lounge is available, on request, for approximately $3200 through the Art Syndicate.
