Though we seldom want to discuss it, the commode is a subject one really can't escape from. It seems to be one of those topics better left unnoticed -- if it is noticeable it's hardly ever due to its outstanding beauty, rather, it's most likely from some repugnant cause.

The Toilet Pages offers an individualized seat on the loo, with thin "pages" that flip down, one for each user, so you can rest assured that yours is the only derriere that's graced its surface. I'm not sure if that would solve the problem of certain members of the male population leaving the seat up, but it may be a step in the right direction.
